It's Been So Long!

Stitch Fix #3

I knew with school starting my blogging time would suffer! My third Stitch Fix arrived on Thursday and I'm just getting pictures now! There are several items I am on the fence about, so I need some help. I requested two things in this box. One was a black mini-skirt that was SHORT (to wear over leggings) and the other was I wanted to see the Stitch Fix handbag options! I have a black mini-skirt, but it's from the Target juniors section and it hasn't worn well over the years. It's pretty faded...

Oh, remember how last time I said price shouldn't matter?? That was a load of bull, so I am posting prices this time! :-)

First Item: Livie Abstract Chevron Maxi Dress - $78

Okay, so I don't normally "do" maxi dresses since I am short, but this kinda works! I love the colors, but don't know how I feel about the waist and it's "blouse-y-ness"... Here's a better side shot of how the waistline sits...
You can see how it blouses over. I am not sure how I like that. Pretty sure it's just me being self conscious, but I always feel like this design only makes me feel more top heavy.

At $78 this is a firm MAYBE. I caught myself thinking, maybe if it was the beginning of summer, I would like it more, but then I realized it's still going to be 80s+ for the next couple weeks! Meh, thoughts??

Next up a top I didn't care for when I saw it and the black skirt I requested. Okay, not exactly what I requested, since I'm pretty sure I said I wanted a cheap black mini skirt to replace my Target one and this one ISN'T cheap by any means...

Wrenn V-Neck Jersey Top - $48

Tart Tami Mini Skirt - $108 (NOT A TYPO)

I wasn't going to even try the skirt on. WHY would I want to pay $100 for a skirt... Then I did. DAMN IT, it fits perfectly and is exactly what I asked for. MAN! Let's focus on the top first while I calm down from the skirt price. Does anyone watch The League? Remember when Andre wore the cowl neck with the button?? Yeah, this shirt feels like that.
Not a flattering neckline for me and not my style at all. This shirt is an easy RETURN. Also I need to clean my mirror.

Before we get back to the skirt, I thew on the last two items. First was a cross body bag.

Kacie Half-Flap Crossbody Bag - $48

Reasonable price, black and crossbody, both wins, but it's just not me. Not sure if it's the size or the gold zipper, maybe the tassels, but it's not me. (also had to change the shirt, to one of a similar color because I couldn't wear it anymore!)

Meh, it does nothing for me, and I love bags. Another easy RETURN.

Last item was a "moto" jacket. I have this thing for asymmetrical zips, but am learning, they really don't flatter me. I didn't even take a picture of the jacket zipped up, but here it is open.

Elissa French Terry Moto Jacket - $68

Meh again. I wanted to love this. It's my colors, it's for those of us with a short torso, it's better than a cardigan, the list goes on and on. That said. It's not working for me. The thing that bugs me the most are the sleeves. Because of this cute zipper on the end of the sleeve, the sleeve kinda bells out at a point and it's NOT flattering and looks weird (to me). Pretty sure this is also a RETURN.

Darn it all though, in all these pictures I am still wearing the skirt... Okay, time to deal with that!

I decided to put on some "Fall" clothes despite the fact that it's going to be 88 degrees here today. This is what I would wear with the skirt for 90% of the Fall and Winter. Leggings and Boots.

Final thoughts before I let you all make the decision for me. Not only is the skirt expensive, it's also Dry Clean Only. I will never dry clean it. I will wash on delicate and lay flat to dry, but I know myself and I know I will never take it to the dry cleaners...

Okay, tell me your thoughts

  2. I like the dress, but not $78 worth.

The skirt is awesome, and you should totally buy it just because the brand name is Tart Tami. I don't dry clean either, which would be a big turn off for me.

  3. Thanks!! I should look and see what the skirt is made of. I have some dry clean only stuff that I was and it's fine, but I know it depends on the material...
